Wow...this discussion went way better than I thought it would :)

I want to make a couple more points.

First, I agree, a baby is a blessing. It's like when I found out my 19 yr old, unwed sister was pg..."Babies are never a baby thing. It's the situation that's bad."

Second, I have very strong views on marriage and babies, and such. I think a baby needs two, yes two, committed parents. This is in NO WAY an affront to single parents. I don't think single parents are bad parents, but I think children need the stability of a two parent home. I don't know anyone else's situation, but I think marriage is important.

Lastly, the reason I posted where and how I did is because I didn't want to embarrass anyone or hurt anyone's feelings. HOWEVER, I have always said if something you've done embarrasses you when other people know/talk about it then you must know it is wrong. Otherwise, why be embarrassed. I don't think this person is a bad mother. I don't know her. I just think it's a bad situation for children.

A baby is and will always be a blessing. I am just not going to congratulate someone for bringing children into chaotic lifestyles. I stick by my view that supposed adults should be more responsible. Especially when you've had multiple children and know how the process works.

Here it goes, Cathy....

JMO :-D
