False Alarm. I hate that! He would not be happy to come home & see me on the computer; I should be finding a job ;)
I think kids take the brunt of divorces. They get shuffled back/forth, constantly hear parents dissing the other, etc. I think it is brutally unfair to them, the children, as they only know what they see/hear/etc. As babies, those first few years are the most important, isn't that what they say? I would think babies wouldn't really know what's going on, but I still think it's unfair to them. I definitely think it's harder on older kids (I see my other nieces)!
As I previously stated, my lesbian stepsister & her "wife" have been together a long time; my nieces are 4 & 2. I don't necessarily agree or disagree with their lifestyle; I just hope they stay together for their children. I love my sister, I love Sarah (the other mommy), & I love my nieces :)
I agree with Donna's statement of "are they taking good care of the children?" Everyone should take great care of their kids. We all know there are lots of people who don't, whether married, single, divorced, or WHATEVER .. there's always someone! And I don't think that ONLY parents who are together take good care ... again, it all depends on the people. We all know people from all ends of the spectrum, including the middle! (And I'm no saint, as you all know!)
This lady seems to really care for her child & she seemed genuinely happy to be pregnant, so that's good. I LOL at her comment about her beau "being a very nervous first time daddy!" ... we were all just there so remember vividly :)
I think Sherri's point about responsibility & Cathy's point about "accidents" if you're not using birth control are extremely VALID & WONDERFUL points!
It is great we can have these adult discussions! KUDOS TO CATHY FOR THIS BOARD!
