Which details? First of all, very strange relation between Regina and Paul Nemenyi. It seems they never lived together. Secondly, the features of Fischer's face are very typical for a half-breed and not for a Jew. Although now there is a theory that a child takes the genes not only from his father but also from his
mother's previous husband. No idea, however, whether the theory is true. Thirdly, it is very strange that Regina hid the truth about Paul Nemenyi even from her children(at least until 1970s). It was not in her character. Forthly, I've never heard that Zurich is located in Poland.

>Why do you think they used his book?

Because this colorful but fictitious description from there is hard to forget:
In 1960, she moved out, leaving her teenage son alone in a Brooklyn apartment that soon
grew filthy - clogged tubs, roaches, dirty dishes.

As for interpretation Regina's departure as 'a relief', I heard another side of the story: 'a blow', 'an
orphan with still alive parents'.
