This is the way i interpret 'Kill Rock Stars'.

I don't see it as an attack on his behalf on every female rock star that lives or as ever lived, but just on two that he personally doesn't like. Just because he doesn't have a respect for Courtney Love, doesn't mean that you can call him and out and out mysognist. He seems to respect Karina Denicke from Dance Hall Crashers, because she features quite a lot as a backing singer and in the credits of their new album she was called 'the lovely Karina Denicke'. His wife, Erin and Sara Fisher plays/played an important role in the day to day running of Fat Wreck. For me it seems that back in '96 he clearly felt the need to point out what he sees/saw as a double standard - namely how SOME female rockstars demand equality and mutual respect from men whilst at the same time singing about what bastards they are. So i think he is trying to say that women should compete on the same level as men, instead of setting themselves apart with the creation of a 'female only' mentality. Courtney recently advertised for band members, saying that to be in her band they must look like "an absolute goddess" and that there was to be "No Boys". If a male put in an ad which said "No girls" they would be, and quite rightly so, absolute uproar. There is a need for more lady rockstars, because i think there needs to be a hell of lot better role models out there than Courtney Love to represent female in Rock.
