Orin glared at the man who had come from the sky and sensed his magical aura, then he laughed. "It does not matter where you are now, but you will soon be travelling to meet Than and Akuji!" Orin raised his hand and a bolt of lightning shot from it into the sky. He held it there for a moment, then it disipated as suddenly as the wind did. The saild immediately went slack, the magic of Telmar's spell losing hold. They had entered a negative energy zone, a place where no magic can be used. If one tried, it would result in nothing. (Yes, this means ALL magic!! ALL!!)
As soon as the sails went slack, a good two-score of black winged figures appeared in the sky, circling closer and closer to the ship. "It starts!" Orin yelled. The sailors around him tensed and readied to fight, a couple moving decidedly towards the man from the sky.
MEANWHILE:
Hornblower heard Orin yell from outside the cabin and then felt the ship rock from the sudden lack of wind. He looked to each person in turn. "Ar, that be the signal, I'd be supposin'. There's nothin' left to do but to git out there and do what we must. Miguel! Ar, ye be a good lad, if we make it out alive, I'll be payin' ye ver' handsomely, I will." He stood and headed through the door, not looking if Link, Felix, Rhamberdie, or Eoren had followed him.
