Extending his nose out to the relative stranger with the first glimmering sense that this woman was going to be his new keeper, or at the very least a regular visitor, he huffed a warm equine breath of greeting against her hand. A huff that quickly turned into a startled snort at the silent communication! Jerking his head back as if he had just nosed something hot, the tips of his ears nearly touched over his forelock as he perked them forward curiously. What the...?? A two-legged who spoke in ways he could understand?? Well! That was a shock! Craning his neck to investigate this woman further, he sniffed carefully at her fingers, chocolate eyes surveying her intently, not quite sure what the proper response to her greeting might be. Did she expect a silent answer in return? Or... would he scare her that way and get himself promptly shuffled off to a new home? Second-guessing himself as was his nature, the gelding stamped a forefoot into the comfortable bedding, debating and arriving at no answers.
