Author: How cool is that?!... Lissa
Subject: Well, here's some more... I was just reading an author's description of his book..."Setting Your Heart on Fire" by Raphael Cushnir. He explains that Love is a dynamic and primal force, the Universe's urge for union. Love connects. Love, as we experience it, is sublime and we do everything in our power to find it. But we think love has a certain face to it. We won't allow ourselves to feel love unless it looks like what we desire. We cut off love with our fears and judgements. He says that "Our need for love in one of these preconceived forms blinds us to its constant presence. In fact Love is here, always, regardless of our circumstances and dependent upon absolutely nothing. It is waiting for you--not in the form you may expect, or believe you need, but instead without form at all. It's an aspect of the Divine, permeating all of creation, and it never says 'no'." What I see Betsy and Lori as experiencing are versions of getting a quick glimpse of the Love that permeates all creation.
In reply to: Lori (wishing she were on a mountain in CO right now...) 's message, "Soooooooooo very cool Betsy! I've had an experience where I kind of felt like what you're describing. Scared the hell outa me at first and it happened very quickly. Never really understood what it was or meant. I was on a mountain so after reading your description here, I figure it was me being part of the mountain like you said you were part of the rainbow. I felt part of the land, the little stream running through it and not human at all for several seconds. I feel that way when I am out west in my beloved mountains but it's never been as strong as that one time. How very lucky we are to be able to have these treasures that surface once in a great while like Lissa said. Lissa you put it into the words I could never understand or explain!" on 19:38:13 08/05/03 Tue

[> [> [> I'd like to also add that my now 10 year old baby used to come up to me when she was younger and tell me that she couldn't tell what was real. I would ask her what she meant by that, but her being so young, she really couldn't explain. IMHO I think she was able to see that this life, that we all think is so real, was what was NOT real. I have asked her if she still feels that sometimes, but she says that she stopped it because she didn't like it. It must have been very confusing for her, disorienting perhaps. I sure hope that she is able to reclaim that ability when she gets older and has a better grasp of things. She was the child who would just stand there looking at me when I would be in the midst of a mother melt-down-rant, just looking at me like I was an interesting bug or something. She wouldn't even flinch! Even as I would be ranting, part of my brain would then realize what an idiot I must look like. hahaha -- Lissa, 23:44:41 08/05/03 Tue

[> [> [> [> When I was a kid I struggled with reality as well. I used to have dreams, also day dreams, where I could fly or transport myself into buildings with the power of my mind. It feels weird to get sucked through walls, I can tell, haha. I actually felt getting pressed through the molecules, it was only a slight resistance, giving in like cutting soft butter with a knife. Such a cool feeling! When I was "awake" I was very disappointed that it didnīt work in the real world. I was very convinced it is normal and should be working! I also couldnīt believe that the reflection of a mirror was "me". I felt so much different than what I looked like, although I had no idea what my real appearance was. All that got lost when I was through puberty. Too bad, because it went along with the feeling of total safety. Back then I KNEW nothing can ever happen to me, and I feared almost nothing. Only the dentist.*lol* -- Martina, 04:05:01 08/06/03 Wed

[> [> [> [> [> I should add when I was a kid there was no such a thing as a science fiction movie, and I didnīt read that stuff either. So I donīt think it was overly active fantasizing, or "playing". It hit me out of the blue, and I did nothing to enforce those dreams. They just were. They were part of my personal reality. Later on, when I saw movies with people walking through walls I felt a deep loss, because I knew I once was able to do that too. How strange is that?*lol* -- Martina, 04:14:37 08/06/03 Wed

[> [> [> [> [> Martina, wow, that is fascinating!!! Gosh I am sure enjoying reading all of the responses to this post! Tell me, have any of you ever lay down in bed and feel as if - it's hard to explain - as if you are leaving your body and taking off flying? And you get this deep sense of freedom and joy? Sometimes it just happens and rarely I can will it to happen. But it doesn't happen often enough because I just love that feeling. It's the most free feeling I've ever felt. And then I can feel myself return to my body so to speak and I try to resist and stay up there, but you know I never see myself above my body or anything. I just get the feeilng that I'm free, flying and swirling around and so happy inside. -- swvaLinda, 15:04:38 08/06/03 Wed

[> [> [> [> [> [> Wow, Linda, you can do that??? It happened to me too, but each time, at the moment of leaving the body, I get so scared that I get sucked back in, heart pounding as hell! I donīt know why I resist that. And I donīt know what to do against the fear. You say it feels peaceful? It feels very exciting to me, way too exciting!*lol* -- Martina, 04:53:20 08/07/03 Thu

[> [> [> [> [> [> [> Hi Martina! You know I've always sort of 'woken up' already out there, floating and yes, blissfully happy! And it's when I return to my body that I try to resist. And sometimes it will work to will myself to go back to floating/flying again. lol So I never in the beginning made the conscious choice to do it, therefore I didn't have any fear. I woke up into it already happy so it was nothing but pleasant. And it wakes me up at night when it happens, when I return I will lay there awake for a few minutes. I've never known what that was, if other people experienced it and I'm still not sure. -- Linda, 10:14:12 08/07/03 Thu
