Subject: Oh I love candles, the warm light they spread, the scents... I sometimes use them to replace a fire (living in appt. right now). The colours definitely mean different things to different people, but like anything you need only find the meaning that is right for you. I used to make my own beeswax candles with parafin thrown in to add to the burning time. Maybe one day I can do that again. :)

[> New meanings of the colors, indeed, but they do make sense. I LOVE candles as well. And you know what, I respect them. Sounds weird, but Iīve been always afraid of fire. (maybe I was burned as a witch in a past life?*g*) Itīs destructive and can do so much harm. Having it in my home on a table, only a single flame which behaves nicely, is like having tamed the power of it, more than that, it`s like the spirit of the fire gives me the honor to enjoy its beauty without any harm. Maybe this is why it has been used for rituals for ages, because people respected the restrained power it holds, using that power for their intentions. -- Martina, 06:51:59 08/31/03 Sun
