Subject: Heya--it's me!

Um, Betsy, Thursday wisdom--I'm askeered of the dark!!!

Hello everyone, I was blessed yesterday with a phone call from Betsy, that was the absolute bestest phone hug. Christine gives good phone hug too. I've also caught Keira once or twice on instant messanger too urging me to come post so finally here I am. I don't know why it should be so hard to come back and start talking... you aren't new friends but familiar old ones; shyness creeping back, who knows.

Right now I am trying to rest. Last week my ankle started feeling stiff and sore and I've been limping around. Very strange as I didn't sprain it, no other recent injuries and it's not swollen. So I heat/ice as much as I can along with taking anti-inflamitory for pain. The dr. is checking my blood for a bunch of stuff, lyme first since I was running a low grade fever last week. I'll keep you posted.

My kids are now 11 and 8. I am still co-leading my DD's scout troop; they are now in their 3rd year of juniors so we bridge to cadettes at the end of this year. We will be going to Salem, MA on Saturday so I will try to hobble around and of course since I signed up for the trip it will definitely rain. (I see there's an 80% chance of rain). One service project the scouts did this year was sewing small pillows for the breast cancer patients at our local hospital. Hubby is taking the Cub Scout den over for the little man.

Doing the usual taxi mom thing: soccer practice, skating lessons and gymnastics. Another school year with the same old issues. Frustrating as a mom, but that discussion could take up half the board!!!

Over the summer read a couple of great books: a book club read, Blessed Are the Cheesemakes by Sarah-Kate Lynch and A Year By the Sea by Joan Anderson. I am on the waiting list for another one by her titled--A Weekend to Change Your Life : Find Your Authentic Self After a Lifetime of Being All Things to All People. I'd love a weekend by the sea!

I did spend a weekend with my daughter in September. Her summer camp has a mother and daugher weekend so we drove up. This girls camp isn't too far away from us but far enough away from everything. We had a great bonfire on the beach at night, making smores and singing. Plus there were more stars in the sky than I've ever seen. The best memory from that weekend is from the bonfire. Lizzy never cries for sentimental reasons like her ol' mom except at the closing friendship song I turned to look at her getting quite choked up over this song about friendships and stars in the sky. I keep meaning to email camp and have someone email the verse. She could add it to her camp scrapbook.

Just cuz I haven't been here doesn't mean you haven't been thought of!! I'm not gonna mention everyone cuz I know I'll forget somebody.

Oh, so, if you click on my voy head you can see my profile and there's a pic posted of me in all my gorgeousness!!

And to leave you with a quote from Joan Anderson...
" We are as unfinished as the shoreline along of the beach, meant to transcend ourselves again and again. "

[> [> [> Ok, when I write life out in words it sounds busy but not really! Last weekend I took the kids out to buy costumes cuz I knew I just couldn't make them this year. Mingo ended up being a plain ol' pirate; not Capt Jack--too much $$. He wanted to be Luke Skywalker but the store only had Anakin, even tho later he said he could've used it and changed the light saber??? He definitely has The Force and doesn't want to be part of the Dark Side!! Lizzy on the other hand, picked out a black/red velveteen vampiress dress. She was also looking at a black faery but figured the dress would be warmer. Looks to be a cold night this year. I will take pics; don't know how long it will take me to actually post them!! -- JeanClaire, 09:26:26 10/27/06 Fri
