If you mean the majority of GAFF, you're right about that. GAFF started, what, 6 years ago?, through the amusement by mostly university students (though many over that age) over other university students' badfic (a result of boredom). Since education has been steadily progressing since the Industrial Revolution, we see that the average age of GAFF and badfic authors lowers but it still maintains the same general motivation: boredom.

Why is this inherent to university students at the present time? "Ooh, big words, proper language -- now I can make fun of high school students with style! It sure as hell beats all this studying!"

Why is badfic inherent to high school students at the present time? "Ooh, big words, budding language skills, Internet and free web space -- now I can show the world my newfound talent!"

I've seen a 14-year-old on the last board. I wouldn't be surprised if many more around your age pop up over the next few years.
