Subject: I'm with you on that last sentence and have been consistently in a group that also includes the imaginer of conversations. Said poster started the thread with goal quality, while I have myself referred intermittently to the *variety* of ways he scores (citing even Blackburn and Stoke away as a rookie). But Raul was harder to leave out last season than was anticipated, with productivity approaching his prime period at Wolves. Who foresaw? Great selection problem to have until it needs resolving.
In reply to: The Man With No Name 's message, "Ironically this moves us into the territory of imagining conversations that we're not party to. If Raul is not good coming off the bench the question is why not and can the coaches not work on that. I think Muniz potential is enormous and we'd be fools not to see him as the future." on Saturday, June 28, 09:45:38am

  • I think at this stage with Raul no amount of coaching will do it. The twilight of his career. He is what he is. The sheer volume of data is enough to suggest he will always be a player who needs to start to score. Beyond that I struggle to think of a single time when he's come off the bench and changed things in any way. Muniz is the future and we need to ride with him. Raul a superb back-up mentor for the transition. But we need a 3rd forward to change dynamics off the bench.
