• They didn’t set the competition up, they were invited to take part by FIFA, you want someone to point the finger at it’s the governing body. • Funny thing about this post is no mention of Liv, Utd, Arsenal etc in the competition, but it does include teams like Auckland, Pachuca etc and is very evenly represented from across the globe, it’s not really an elitist, feed the rich and F the rest group of teams really. I believe PSR has been used to erect a fence between the have and have nots, but outside of Europe a lot of countries love the club World Cup including such a wide variety of teams.     • Your point is that a tournament has been created for the rich to get richer, when in reality the majority of big clubs aren’t there, there’s a good spread of teams from across the globe, majority who aren’t rich. A Eurocentric view is its too much football and familiar names, but fans from Asia, S.America, everywhere bar Europe are loving seeing their local teams play in a truly global event, earn some good money and compete in what has become a very euro focused sport.       • Real Madrid, PSG, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Inter Milan. Last time I looked these were some of the biggest clubs in European Football. Add Man City and Chelsea to Real and PSG and you have some of the richest and most powerful clubs in the world.         • But it’s a world club cup, I’m not sure what you expect, they have earned their right by meeting the qualifying criteria.           • It does'nt matter if it's the existing football elite, or the emeging football elites (same people?). What do you think has motivated the creation of this new competition? European clubs have plenty of domestic and European competitions that they enter already, surely this is about previously untapped broadcasting revenues, and giving the Saudi League clubs a foot hold in top competition.             • Money, but also showcasing other teams, otherwise why invite them, why invite Auckland if you can shoehorn Liverpool in? That would generate more revenue. Why don’t you consider what it means for a botafogo fan or a red diamonds fan? There are twice as many Brazil league teams as what you call the elites of prem football.
