We don't and never will have the resources to be top six and if the Khans were willing to spend the necessary money to achieve that, then the financial regulations forbid it. Of course things can always be a little better but the big picture is that we're as successful as we're ever likely to be apart from maybe an occasional aberrational season. Yes, I find it an odd criticism of the owners that their "only" ambition is to make us a club that every year is midtable. Puts our name in the hat, year on year, and allows us to grow alongside other top-tier clubs with such a record: (e.g. Everton, West Ham, Villa). Imagine if we'd never dropped out of the league when the bought us and we were looking at 25 years of uninterrupted mid-table mediocrity!   - Lower-mid table. What Marco and the owners have done is make us firmly and solidly mid- mid-table. And that is actually really impressive, if you ask me. Because, exactly as you say, we are historically a 2nd tier club. Nudging us up from on average finishing in the bottom half of the table and worrying about relegation, to where we are now where, other than some congenital worry warts, relegation really isn't an issue, is just incredible and shows real ambition.
