• No one knows more /better than Silva as to what this Squad needs to take it to the next level from this platform of stability. Otherwise who at the Club is going to fill in for any successor the positives and negatives of the playing squad , TK and his backroom staff ?? I’d suggest they wouldn’t know where to start and prob feel only a couple of tweaks are needed (‘Great’ Squad etc only recently from the DoF) .   • Months ago you were screaming that he wasn't given enough freedom. Now you can't stop screaming that they give him too much. If only you had the consistency that the club has built. It may be uninspiring, but it clear that that the well-documented three-headed beast that runs our transfers has done well. As we've seen at Palace and Forest, there's danger in disrupting that delicate balance, whoever changes. So more of the same (all three) for me thanks. • Football is entertainment, it’s about making memories, Europe, cup finals etc. I’ll never look back and think, great we got more points or conceded less than other teams over a 3 year period, it’s like an accountants view of football. Add palace, BHA, now Sunderland to comparable clubs who have qualified before us. You said yourself, it’s somewhat dull, we haven’t really progressed, we consistently pass up opportunities, give me 16th one year and 7th the next over 11th/12th every year.   • Not for me. I'm forever scarred by us nearly disappearing. Mid-table consistent stability and a shot every year is good. This year we were one stupid tackle from 6th. Over the four years, we outperformed Bournemouth (200), Palace (192 points), Forest (179), West Ham (174), Everton (173), Wolves (149), performed as well as Spurs (205) and just below Brentford (207).     • Each to their own, but don’t find those numbers incredible, doesn’t mean anything as a fan. I’ll bet you not one fan of those teams is thinking, FFC got more points than us last 3 years. Palace to Wembley & won, B.mouth/Sland Europe, forest Europe semi final, meaningful memorable things as a fan, not how many points you get. Every team has a what if moment, I’m actually amazed at the change of view from many given a dead rubber win yesterday. We had our moments and blew them (again).         • Out performed is finals, Europe, it doesn’t matter we got more points than B.mouth for 2 years, all that matters is this season they finished above us, are in Europe, we passed up our opportunities again. It’s about winning moments as much as an overall picture of the season, we consistently come up short in the moments that matter under silva. Going round in circles anyway, agree to disagree on what success is, but I won’t remember for one second how many points we got in 5 years time. There are many paths to success and not all success has to be NOW, NOW, NOW despite the sad, immediate gratification world we live in. Many ways to slice the sausage and given the "fine margins" of the league, a smart play is to just keep entering the competition in a competitive state.             • Consistent passing of opportunity when presented, it’s not unlucky, it’s not being good enough after being given plenty of chances, plus we have become more boring to watch, entertainment wise we are regressing. I’d be more sympathetic if I could see upward trajectory, but 3 years is a long time in football and I don’t see it. Silva has worked with most these players a long time and I’d argue many are now regressing and we have limited room to refresh.     • As to the nearly going under, that’s the same argument as we see constantly trotted out for silva; be careful what you wish for, we might be like Charlton. It’s completely different times, we have hugely wealthy owners, a newly built stand, had multiple relegations with these owners and absolutely no sign of them wanting out, parachute payments etc The 1980s is about as apples and oranges a comparison as I can imagine and certainly no reason to want to achieve more.       • No, this is nothing like the ridiculous Curbishly arguments. I'm not one who thinks losing Marco would be an unmitigated disaster. This is merely a question of perspective. Mine is one that is still grateful and, frankly, surprised we're here at all. Ask any Bournemouth fan and I'd bet they'd say the same. They likely want to get the best possible out of a transient situation that they can. My perspective is more rolls of the dice = more chances of success.
