Subject: Not excited for future of the Premier League AT ALL

The whole Premier League "product" seems sterile and boring now, and "product" is all it has indeed become. Maybe it's to do with half the clubs being American owned that we've been forced down this road, where club size is the determining factor of success potential, where Roy of the Rovers stuff is just impossible with FFP, VAR and every other instrument put in place to ensure the big clubs finish near the top, and the small fries fight relegation every other season.

Today we parted with Marco Silva, who did a great job for us, but this isn't a sulking post. Sure, he maybe needed a new challenge and I don't think we will suffer without him too much. Maybe we finish around the same or slightly lower, who knows. But what is guaranteed is that mid-table teams will all spend about the same amount to finish mid-table again next season, with perhaps one or two breaking top7 for just 1 season before struggling with midweek games and dropping back to 11th.

It's all too predictable and stale; in my opinion the yanks have completely ruined English football in their quest to ensure stable returns for minimal investment while maximising their asset value. There is nothing inspiring for the average fan, only a complete rip off every season/match. And it won't stop there, in a few seasons promotion/relegation will become more limited to reduce financial risk, salary caps which scale with club revenue will be brought in to further limit competition.

I've supported Fulham since before I could walk in the early 90's, but I don't think I'll be getting another season ticket unless we go down where there will actually be a half-proper experience to take in.
