"Thank you, darling. What a lovely thing to wake up to. And I don't just mean the java,"

Erlic simply smiled at Jade’s awakening comments. It seemed that she was able to get her bearings quite easily, and readily should the need arise. She patted the bed next to her, and Erlic was more than glad to sit next to the woman he had just made love to. It had been a most pleasurable sensation, and he felt quite comfortable next to her.

After asking what was on the agenda for the day, she leaned over, and kissed his jaw. He rather enjoyed the feeling of her nearness, and turned to her, placing his hand under her chin, gazing into her eyes, before kissing her on the lips.

She seemed quite open with him, even though they had just met each other, and for him that was quite unusual to get that close to a person, whether it be male or female, in such a short span of time.

He broke off from the kiss, allowing Jade to finish waking up. “Chances are we’ll probably investigate the other two temples, and hope that we can find the Peacock Throne for Sheikh Daraba, and possible the branches of Midnight Hue for Queen Kazabet,” Erlic responded never taking his gaze off the exotic woman.

And that thought led to a question about Jade; what was she doing in Neromba? Was she perhaps looking for something as well? The more he thought about it, it really didn’t matter. Adventurers were constantly getting hired to find certain objects, regardless of their value for people that either couldn’t travel, or didn’t have the experience. That’s why adventurers existed. Yes it would prove costly, but if they valued an item, and wanted it quite badly, they would also be willing to pay for someone else’s service.

He kissed the adorable woman on the lips again, wondering why he was so enthralled with her. “So far I’ve only seen Ravin, and Isobel at the campfire. I’m sure the others will be getting up soon, and that’s when we’ll probably head out.”

He wondered what would happen once they finished their assignment. Would Jade continue on with them, or go her separate way. He couldn’t let that thought disturb him for he had no hold on the woman, and she was free to choose which direction she needed to go. He would still have the memory of her within his soul, and that in itself was an accomplishment.

He didn’t know if Jade was sharing the same thoughts as his, but for some reason decided he needed to say something to her. “My mentor explained to me many times about the issues of life, and what can possibly happen,” Erlic began. “He said that we have to stick to our perceptions, and to our feelings. That is where experience, philosophy, and self-refinement come in. We know that we have accomplished things, we know that we can coordinate what we perceive with established principles, and we trust that our beings are finely tuned enough to accurately feel what is around us. What we do in life is up to us, and will not be known all at once. Therefore, we have to feel our way along, little by little, building the vision to know what we are individually meant to do. We can’t let doubt interfere with our touch. We have to trust our touch.”

He took a sip of his java wondering if his words, which many people found extremely stale, and boring, not to mention undecipherable, would be understood by his new friend, and companion, with whom he had shared an extremely pleasurable time with.
