Jade listened to Erlic's explanation of what made Tegol's men different from the assassins and nodded. "But you do know part of their motivation, even if it doesn't make sense. And you know where they'll likely be waiting. They don't know that you're aware of their plans, so you actually have an advantage over them." She had the great urge to run her hands down his arms, but she resisted the temptation this time. He was covered in blood, after all.

Finally he decided to ask her the questions she could see had been lurking in his mind since they'd found her, and she watched his eyes as he spoke. She smiled slightly, noting that he appeared to be doing the same. Sizing me up.

“So why was it that the Sharm felt the need to shackle you to the cell? Didn’t they believe that the bars of the cell were enough? And why the need to remove your clothing?” Erlic asked her.

She smiled sardonicly. "Well, it seems that for some reason the Sharm twits thought I might do something silly like kill them with my clothing." In truth, they had taken her clothing to begin with and left her a dirty cassock to wear. She had strangled one of them with the hem when he came to take her for her daily "indoctrination" session, so they had simply left her naked from then on.

"As for the shackle..." she paused, her eyes travelling over his blood-covered clothing. Had she not seen his face in her dreams since she was a child, she would not have told him the truth. But... she moved closer to him, leaning up to whisper softly in his ear, her lips barely caressing his earlobe as she spoke. "The shackle kept me from casting any spells. It was quite annoying." She let her lips linger on his earlobe briefly before stepping back, winking. "Just between you and me," she added.

Suddenly there were people running around in the corridor outside the room shouting that it was time to move out. She grinned at Erlic, her eyes sparkling. "Time to go to work."

They made their way to a crumbling temple that Ravin had found on some map and entered the place. She found the dome to be beautifully preserved considering its age, but looks were obviously deceiving as bits of it began to come down as an enormous bat took roost in the dome.

The altar room itself intrigued her. She began to examine the statues, checking to see if there were perhaps any compartments for offerings or the like, since someone had already swooped down on the altar. She wasn't surprised but was slightly disappointed to find nothing in the first statue and was moving to another when disaster struck. The roof began to collapse in great chunks and the lights went out as a lot of people evidently went down. Fortunately she was only struck a glancing blow on the arm by a bit of rubble and was fine, but when Laurel cast some spell to put lights around the room it was evident that some of the others weren't so lucky.

She hurried over to help unbury some of the people who had gotten stuck under the fallen plaster, heaving chunks of stone aside. She uncovered someone's arm, only to find a piece of something had stuck itself through it. "Yikes, fella, you've got a doozy there. One you'll be able to tell the grandkids about." She gingerly pulled him from the rubble and set him off to the side near the wall. "Hey, this guy needs a healer over here!" She called out.
