Subject: Go fish!
In reply to: Isobel, Barry, and knocked out Argus 's message, "Waiting for Valhorek" on 11:55:13 01/29/02 Tue

Since Ravin wasn't present when Argus related his tale, he felt just as surprised as Isobel sounded when she told him the man had used magic against one of the assassins. The thief didn't care much for spellcasters, but he could see the importance of having one along on an adventure, especially if that adventure was going to be plagued by magic wielding assassins! Of course it was pretty difficult to understand Argus because of his harsh dialect, but perhaps his speech would become more comprehensible over time. At least he hadn't been afraid to stand up to the assassins and that in itself made the man a welcome traveling companion.

He grinned when Isobel coughed after taking a couple of sips of the whiskey. Obviously, she wasn't accustomed to such strong liquor. After accepting the flask back from her, he took a long drink from it, and almost choked when she mentioned Laurel. When he lowered the flask his face was slightly red. So, Isobel had seen him without a stitch of clothing on, lying on top of the druidess.

"It wasn't intentional," he said, running a hand through his hair. "I was taking a bath when the assassins attacked, and didn't have time to put any clothes on. Laurel appeared just as an assassin was shooting off a dart and I told her to duck. The next thing I know, holy hells breaks loose. Laurel ended up unconscious and I was only trying to revive her when you saw me in that position." Ravin wondered why he felt the need to explain his actions to the woman.

Shrugging, he took another sip of whiskey before setting it aside in favor of the less potent ale that he was practically immune to. It was then that he noticed his shirt was on inside out. When he pulled it off he spotted bloodstains and remembered the knife that had grazed his shoulder. Another wound for Val to take a look at later. Once he had the shirt back on the right way, he laid down on his back with his head resting on a bent arm. He gazed up at the beautiful blue sky, grateful for the lack of any more lightening or gale force winds. After a yawn, he turned his head to Isobel. "I'm really looking forward to investigating the ruins of Twilight city, but I hope the hell we can somehow manage to get a couple hours of sleep before a new crisis arises, don't you?"

Although the thief was weary, he couldn't allow himself to pass out until he was certain there were no more assassins in the area. When Tia called out his name and asked him if he would retrieve a pile of fish she had left by the pond, Ravin sighed then got to his feet. "I'd like to stay here in case anyone needs me," she said, glancing at a very distraught looking Tristan.

Ravin simply nodded then walked away, palming a throwing knife as he made his way back to the pond. After several minutes of searching, he found the fish, stuffed them into a sack and hurried back to the camp, stopping to ask a centaur for a couple of frying pans. Once he had the pans in hand, he reclaimed his seat beside Isobel. "Anyone want to help me scale the fish?" he asked. That he could do, but when it came time to cooking them the task was better left to someone else since he barely knew how to boil water.
