Wow! Not surprised about OLTL being shut out, but I am about GH- there was some amazing work this year. Particularly with MB and SB. And, petty as it may sound, even though some of the actors may have done some good work on OLTL, I'm glad the show was shut out of the big categories- proves a point.
MB wasn't shut out. Maurice declined to put his name in. He didn't think he had two good episodes. And ER (Bianca) *was* nominated, at least according to the list I saw on Soapzone. And so were JD (Leo) and RB (Greenlee)--cool! And I just started watching ATWT again (it was my FIRST soap from like 20 years ago!) and it was awesome! I love SB and think she always does wonderful work, but I am not sure that MB and SB bring out the best in each other, acting wise. (NT) -- Monica, 12:51:52 03/14/01 Wed
Thanks Monica, personally I love MB's work and I could have helped him pick out several episodes. The bits I've read, like any backstage politics, sounds like daytime emmy's nomination process are a bit screwy. From what I understand an actor or a producer can submit episodes for consideration. But if an actor does not submit, can a producer override that actor and send in the 2 episodes for consideration if the actor doesn't want it? (NT) -- Tuggs, 13:37:01 03/14/01 Wed
I'm not sure about the answer to this question, Tuggs. Maybe EPs CAN "override" but I would think in most cases they would respect an actor's personal wishes... my question is WHY didn't MB want his name on the ballot this year?! (NT) -- jackie, 17:55:12 03/14/01 Wed
