Subject: I hate it that they put a chip in his head so he couldn't bite. The second half of last year was awful because of it. Just Spike standing around feeling sorry for himself. But this year Spike is doing a lot more, and the whole Buffy fixation is really making things more exciting. I have no idea if James Marsters is leaving the show. Hope not, since Spike's the only thing on TV I look forward to anymore.

  • That chip thing bothers me because part of Spike's appeal is the anticipation of badness, and the will he or won't he, just like with Todd. If Spike CAN'T bite, it takes the anticipation away, and it takes away the significance of the times he chooses NOT to bite. I'd much rather see him able to bite but choosing not to sometimes, and being unable to resist at other times. I'm not into the concept of fixing characters to begin with, so fixing a sci-fi vampire is definitely not my thing. (NT) -- Elisa, 14:33:20 03/14/01 Wed
