Author: "Vince from Villanova" (Merry Christmas, Jeff! Here's another hour!)
Subject: Simple: they'll drop it. Cramer was only there because Clear Channel bullied WPHT into taking him. His show is a square peg in a round hole, and WPHT would rather give his hour to the disgruntled Jeff Katz.

I listen to Jeff Katz every day and he sure seems pretty happy to me. Who could be disgruntled only having to work one a hour day? The only thing that could make him happier I'll bet is doing that Don Cannon thing and broadcasting from his home in Florida.

[> [> [> Have you ever been on-the-air? I have. Katz left a nice gig in Vegas to come to Philly for a better gig. He took over afternoon drive with 4 hours when MAS left, then lost it all and got stuck with 1 non-prime-time hour when MAS returned. At the time, from what people here were saying, Katz was not happy and made it clear on the air. No on-air host is EVER happy to lose time and get demoted to a worse time slot. (Exception: Rollye, who actually PREFERS later timeslots.) -- "Vince from Villanova" (You'll pry this mic from my cold, dead hands.), 15:48:03 12/12/02 Thu

Vince, since you are not local anymore, gotta tell you that you're off base on this one. I listen to Jeff EVERYDAY and never once has he indicated that he is unhappy with the time slot. He jokes about it, always sounds happy and talks all the time about spending all day playing with his son. Sounds pretty happy to me. And the word from inside is that since his time changed, he's lost about 30 lbs and he's always tan. Sounds like a happy camper to me.

[> [> [> [> [> In my experience, those who trumpet inside connections just wish they had them. I was quite clear about my source: when MAS returned, I remember reading posts here about how torqued-off Katz sounded on the air. The new on-air happiness could easily be fake: I've successfully faked that before, and I'm a rookie. And I've known plenty of miserable thin people with great tans. (Hey, I AM in Florida...) Or what the hell, I could be wrong too. Wouldn't be a first. -- "Vince From Villanova" (No fake connections neccessary.), 00:00:04 12/14/02 Sat

I enjoy his show every day too, but I would not be surprised if he decides to dump WPHT soon. He's too good to be limited by those people.
