I'd like to get my hands on the GE1 to see how it performs but lacking that item I could only compare the newer one and the CC original. While both are good radios the C.C.Radio edged out the GE ... for me. One thing that some early C.C.Radio users had a problem with was that the radio was not calibrated properly. Manual calibration greatly improved the situation on many radios.

Now that CC has a newer one out, The C.C. Plus, the difference, to me, is even more striking.

Every market has its own unique reception challenges and I don't doubt your results for a minute. Here in Philly under our conditions the C.C.Radio did better for me. Others still love the GE and for good reason. The price of the GE is hard to beat and it does perform well. What turns me off is the fade out that the CC. fixes with digital tuning. With the GE you never really know exact where you are on the dial. Digital tuning alone with an improved AM external setup is enough for me. I hate trying to tune in a station on the GE and getting buzz and distortion. With the C.C. I dial in the frequency and that's it, no fuss. I've had to retune my GE radio at work so many times I'd like to throw it against the wall.

The Superradio I is supposed to be identical in performance to the easier-to-find (on e-bay) Superradio II, which is superior to the Superradio III on FM and just a tad better on AM than the III. I own several IIs, the III and an original C.Crane. As I mentioned on the radio page, I was disappointed with the C.Crane. For the money, it should have been much better. I don't notice the signal drift problem that Surf apparently has with his Superradio (III?). The Superradio III with a Select-A-Tenna or C.Crane's Justice antenna generally slightly outperformed the C.Crane similarly equipped. But the C. Crane's local AM overload problem is a big one for me as I live close to several of the region's AM sticks (KYW, WFIL, WZZD, WNAP). As mentioned, the Superradio excels in rejecting the strong AMs. Maybe the new C. Crane has solved the problems of the original. But I'm not going to gamble another $160 to find out, thank you. I'll put that money toward a Kiwa loop.
