Subject: I don't know if it is hurting the growth of new listeners but it is definitely destroying the sense of community that made radio talk so enticing in a previous era. You could learn things and be entertainined......by the CALLERS as well as the host. Also, Imus does have a good mix but sometimes his non-stop hypochondria and bitching over nothing forces me to turn the dial.

I agree there is a need for local drive time talk. I remember the days of Dominic Quinn. It is important to know something of how our neighbors feel and think about challenges we are all facing. It is so annoying that the two national shows on air from 9-3 are nothing more than purveyors of the government's agenda. Works if one agrees, angers if one doesn't.
This new era we have entered in which the media and their minions decry daily any dissenting opinion is, I feel, very dangerous for an America which has fought long and hard to establish the best working model of freedom in the world.
It is so important that people be exposed to all types of opinions in a free market of exchange in order that the one voice drummed loudly each day does not result in lockstep thinking. Thank you, Phelan
