Subject: Telecommunications Act of 1996

I too am a veteran of the US Army. "Lock and Load" a 30 round magazine. Firerers, watch your lane. But down to cases.

Moyers has a left leaning show but he offers more than commentary. He digs for the facts and introduces knowledgable guests on a given topic. ONLY then does he give it a left wing spin. I loved his shows with Joseph Campbell and others too numerous to mention. He knows his stuff.

What the Telecommunications Act of 1996 did (I'm sure you know this)was ruin radio for the forseeable future and beyond. This act was wholeheartedly supported by the Dems and Reps who promised a new guilded age of radio. There is also new pending regulations and laws on the table that could give conglomerates even more control over the airwaves in the near future.

And these hearings and the work that goes into creating new rules are always done behind closed doors and the special interest with the most money wins. It is horrible. I'm convinced the US has seen its better days. Is it just me or does it seem everytime Congress deregulates a given industry they also ruin it? (e.g. telephone, moving, airline, trucking, radio, etc.)
