Ms. Davis was on with Tom Marr this week on WOR for an hour she documented ever single aspect of her theory. It was facinating. She is on to something no doubt about that and is finally getting more exposure. Tom said the
show was going out to fifteen other stations. Will his
show get picked up here. Jayna also as a great website.

She sounded very convincing with Smirconish and Marr. As for "Big Talker" picking up Tom? It's very doubtful. The current management of that place thinks the future lies in the likes of Glenn Beck and Jeff Katz. If Sal and Grace were a football team they would combine to lead the world in fumbles

[> [> The future of talk IS Glenn Beck and Jeff Katz, if for no other reason than that they're younger than most of today's highest-rated talkers. On that note, the future of music radio is automated DJ-less programming and occasional syndicated shows. Hey, nobody said the future of radio has to be better than the present... -- "Vince from Villanova" (I like Beck, but I like Neal Boortz more), 06:53:54 10/28/02 Mon

Vince, I sure hope that you are wrong. But I keep forgeting that I'm out of the loop, so my opinion doesn't count. I'll sit back and monitor this forum as to the longevity of Beck and Katz, which I hope will be short. I would be happy to call in the grid coordinates for the air-strike to remove both of them.

Vince are you serious. If Beck and Katz are the future of talkradio then the format is dead. Check the ratings history of both of them in major markets. Better yet check their ratings at WPHT. Neither one has competiton and both have laid huge ratings eggs on a fifty thousand watt station.

[> [> As I said, the future of talk radio does NOT have to be good. The fact is, when folks like Rush, Neal Boortz, and the rest of talk's "old guard" starts to retire, younger talkers like Beck and Katz will be next in line for their mics. I guarantee, they're not going anywhere for a while. If Mike Gallagher, G. Gordon Liddy, Mike Reagan, Bruce Williams, Jim Bohannon, and any number of other dime-a-dozen second tier hosts can hang on for years, so can Beck and Katz. -- "Vince from Villanova" (The truth don't have to be pretty.), 11:24:11 10/29/02 Tue

Dime a dozen second tier hosts?...My my your inexperience is flooding thru and you may be shutting off a road in your own future. Many are called to Talk/Radio as hosts very few have staying power. Listen closely Vince. You don't even have the potential yet to be a "has been". You are a class-A-wannabe. You young man are in the "dime-dozen" category.
Anohter locked cinch guarantee. Beck and Katz don't have it and both of them know it.

[> [> You may be surprised to find that I actually agree with you: I have yet to prove myself in the ratings, and yes, I "wannabe" a radio talk show host. But that doesn't change the accuracy of my words. Nobody starts a talk station thinking, "Gee, if only I could land G. Gordon Liddy, THEN my ratings would take off!" -- "Vince from Villanova" (Wannabe, and proud of it.), 10:43:10 10/30/02 Wed

[> [> [> I once talked to a big radio PD about hosting a show, but afterward I realized I'd have dumb down my personality too much to appeal to the target audience of the station. When I was told about the subjects that people in this town like to talk about and what they look for in a host, I passed. -- the Formal Observer, 23:27:50 10/30/02 Wed
