In reply to: Joe 's message, "The absolute WORST radio station in Philadelphia: WNWR" on 15:09:15 10/01/02 Tue

I have two questions regarding some of the complainers-
1) Is it a bad strategy to serve the market needs of smaller niche voices such as radio programming in Chinese or French? These two groups along with Spanish are the largest growing population bases in the stagnate Philadelphia market. I will grant you that in the world of homogenous radio programmed out of a computer in LA, the effort may sound flawed. As Vince from Villanova pointed out, the cost of running a radio station is fairly inexpensive when you avoid costly items such as royalties to the record companies and constant station give-aways and promotions.

2) Where can someone learn the business today of radio after they leave an academic environoment? The truth is that Philadelphia doesn't have an open format community radio station.

I think your words are the words of someone who has no clue about radio, let alone...understanding what the nature of WNWR 1540 is. Stop wasting your time on websites and get a life....>>>>> you sound like a person who knows everything...
and with all the knowledge you have - it could fitin a thimble.
