Subject: Culled from WNWR's website "Since WNWR AM 1540 is the ONLY multi-lingual station in the Philadelphia Market, the station does not subscribe to "Arbitron" ratings. Arbitron's diary cards are usually available only in ENGLISH and therefore are of little use to our listeners."
In reply to: "Vince from Villanova" 's message, "The problem with radio is that you simply don't NEED a sizeable audience to be successful. All you need to do is keep your ad revenues above your expenses. That's why a station that doesn't even show up in the ratings can thrive for years, while a station with a respectable 3.5 can be losing money and have to flip formats. I suspect WNWR's salespeople are doing better than you might think." on 00:12:44 10/25/02 Fri

If your station has a monopoly on left-handed Albanian listeners, and enough advertisers are interested in wooing the lucrative left-handed Albanian demographic, you too can survive with a 0.2 rating. -- "Vince from Villanova" (Oh, that's right... radio's a business!), 23:28:09 11/26/02 Tue
