Subject: This is just one more piece of evidence that we need a new Athletic Director. Our budgets compare very favorably with other schools in the A-10, but our performance clearly does not. Frank is now in his fourth decade of presiding over a sports program that has been an ongoing embarrassment to Fordham. His retirement is long overdue. Why isn't Father McShane taking action? Is he so involved in academics, fund-raising, and planning expansions at Lincoln Center that he doesn't know (or care) about the abysmal Athletic Department a few hundred yards from his office? Does he simply feel sorry for Frank? Has he been charmed by Frank's blarney? Or is it that the president is relying on the unwise counsel of Jeff Gray? It seems that nothing ever changes at Rose Hill.
