Subject: We are on our way to being successful. I think we all know that. Bigger schools will come after DW, we know that too. It's part of the college hoop scene. We need to be proactive and negotiate a very nice contract for DW now so that when the big boys come calling we don't have to make a quantum leap with his contract in one week in order to try to keep him. That would be reactive and generally doesn't work. We've got a special situation here - let's do everything we can to preserve it.

I say give the program atleast one more year before we start offerring the shirts off our back like we did with Bob Hill. At this point, has DW been contacted by a big school? Even if we do pay him a tidier sum now, will that ensure he won't leave if another school comes calling? These are a few things that an AD should also consider.
