Subject: Recruiting Update

On Point Guards: Look for us to be in the hunt for Rutgers transfer Manny Quezada. Also, as per my prior post on him, we're still involved with 5' 11", 180 lb. PG Brian Johnson from Mt. St. Joseph's in Baltimore. He's Class of '05 and has yet to qualify, but we may offer if he does. He's an excellent passer and defender who needs to improve his shot(sound vaguely familiar?) A true point and a nice player. He's also being recruited by Providence and Kent State(is it just me or is always these two schools recruiting against us late in the game?). Stay tuned.

Here's a review of a few interesting Class of '06 frontcourt recruits mentioned in my prior posts(we are involved with many, many players but I pulled these guys out because several are players we would love to sign):

Delroy James, a 6' 7", 210 lb. post who is originally from Brooklyn. This kid has a big upside and is expected to grow to 6' 9" or taller, based on the height of his two brothers. Brother Shawn is a star frosh at Northeastern and his other brother Lex is a juco player in San Francisco who is being highly recruited. Word has it that St. John's leads with him and his brother Lex, and they may sign together. If we got him it would be a steal. We have already offered him. The connection to him was through his AAU coach, Tiny Morton from Lincoln HS(Dominick Osei's alma mater).

Michael Glover, brother of former St. John's player Anthony, is a 6' 7", 190 lb. forward at Monroe Campus High School in the Bronx. He's a solid player that knows how to play the game and plays with great desire. He's supposed to be a great kid and would fit in well at Fordham. We need to sign him early if he'll come - right now it's us, St. Joe's, St. John's and some MAAC schools but many others will be jumping on this guy's bandwagon.

Diedrick King is a 6' 3", 180 lb. swing player from New Britain HS in CT. who plays for the Connecticut Select AAU team. This is another kid that will attract a lot of schools over the summer - he's pretty athletic and is a very tough competitor. We're the highest level program recruiting him right now. A sleeper.

Austin Wallace is a 6' 7", 210 lb. forward from LaSalle. A great defender who will play the 4 and 5 in college. He transferred in to LaSalle from South Bronx High School. Right now it's us, Rutgers, St. John's and a bunch of MAAC schools. Look for him to be a potential priority in the Fall signing period.
