Author: Frank's Busy!
Subject: Fordham drops the ball again. You're right, Ed, there probably WON'T be a room or ticket available by the time Fordham's sports-bureaucrats wake up on this one. Again, we see a total lack of imagination, foresight, and marketing savvy on the part of Frank & Company. Maybe the AD and Jeff Gray are busy scheduling events in Poughkeepsie, so fans can have a hot time up there when we have our gridiron battle with mighty Marist! Fr. McShane, are you reading this? We need a totally new Athletic Department and a new Athletic Director. The current crowd couldn't run a good CYO.

  • 2 things from www.paradisejam.com. First, it was thought that Hampton was in this tournament along with FU, Wisconsin, Georgia, and ODU, but on the website is says Eastern Kentucky is in, no mention of Hampton. Also, last year's tournament was just a 6 team tournament but the website has 3 blank slots for TBA teams, meaning they want 8 this year instead of 6. Maybe last year they couldn't get 8 and settled for 6. No matter how you slice it, the major conference teams are good (Isn't Georgia getting the best or a top 5 nationally ranked recruit if he doesn't go pro?) and the mid-majors in there were both in the NCAAs this year. • It does look like a quality field and it will be a good barameter for our program to start the season off against that kind of competition. Only about 7 months away. . . and Louis Williams is the number 1 rated point guard by many publications and he is expected to play at Georgia. Dennis Felton is turning things around there after the whole Jim Harrick fiasco and will have them a contender in the SEC in a few years. (NT) -- '02 Grad, Tue April 05, 2005 09:40:16
