Subject: No - I was assigned to the U.S Army Administration Center (USAAC) which is in the St. Louis suburb of Overland. There were no barracks, so in addition to my measley $90 per month pay as an E-1, they gave me $60/month for housing and $2.57 a day for food. I had no complaints - living a quasi-civilian life in St. Louis in the midst of the Vietnam War was fine with me.
