Subject: I heard it and thought it was humorous. Michael Kay, one of our own, was recounting the story about one of the WFUV student announcers missing the exit since he did not know how to spell Worcester.
In reply to: d. atkins '02 's message, "At about 4:30 PM yesterday, I was listening to 1050 radio. Sorry for the lack of details, but I do not know who the host nor the guest were. But they were talking about a Fordham guy driving up to Holy Cross for a basketball game. This Fordham guy apparently couldn't find it because he didn't realize that "Worcester” is pronounced Wuhs-Ster, so he missed all of the signs. The guest laughingly concluded, "that is a fordham education for you." Then he and the host had a few chuckles about it. Maybe I missed the context, but seemed like a low blow to me. Did anyone else catch this?" on Tue March 22, 2005 10:40:04
