Subject: Tom--The only reason I left early is because the "wimp" I was with who graduated from the college in 1969 was cold. Imagine, an exciting game with a temperature in the low 60's and he's cold. As I have said many times, us CBA grads are just tougher and more worldly than my friends from the college but I'm sure you knew that already. By the way, sophmore Javier Martinez pitched the last five innings without giving up a hit while striking out six. The Winthrop team is real good (17-6) with three players expected to be drafted this year by MLB. One of their kids was the MVP in the Cape Cod League last year. I was impressed with the hustle, the hitting and solid defense by the Fordham kids which is a credit to Nick Restaino and his staff.
