Subject: Temple Women's Team has Nation's Longest Winning Streak

Congrats to the 6th-seeded Temple Women's Hoop team on winning their 25th straight game today, beating Louisiana Tech in the 1st round of the NCAA Women's Tourney at Gampel Pavilion. The Owls have the nation's longest winning streak in women's college basketball - they haven't lost since Dec. 4th, 2004. They are 28-8 and I believe will play Rutgers next in the NCAA Tournament.

  - J�Dete-I like Coach Stringer. I feel she is tough, a hard worker and doesnt mess around. Being from NJ, Rutgers sports have always been dismal for the most part. It is great to see Stringer landing the big recruits, and teaching these girls how to be winners. This team posted wins over #8 Tennessee, #3 Texas, #1 LSU in a 2 week span!!       - Staley is good, but Stringer is a pure teacher of the game with over 700 wins and 30 years experience. Only three other coaches I would consider better or in the same tier are Summitt, Conradt, and Auriema. (NT) -- Smoochy, Mon March 21, 2005 14:57:32

    - Thanks for the response Smoochy. It is always interesting to find out what teams others have an allegiance to. Many of us did not grow up Fordham fans so it was only natural for us to root for someone else as long as they are not facing Fordham. Having grown up in Miami I am a big Hurricanes fan in all sports, but mainly football and baseball.
