Subject: Was Paul wrong to put Alia in power?

I'm re-reading Dune Messiah, and it occurred to me that Paul was perhaps very wrong and very rash in putting his sister Alia in power. First of all, shouldn't his prescience have told him something about what would happen? Second of all, she was a child (an ancient one, but still...) Third of all, she was a bene gesserit. A wild fremen one, mind you, but BG through and through. Shouldn't all of these things somehow pointed to DON"T PUT ALIA IN CONTROL? Was Paul being totally irresponsible or what?

Opinions please.
