Subject: Daniel and Marty

Hello All
I've been told that this list is the quintessential list of DUNE knowledge...that if I had questions about DUNE, I could probably get the answers here. I'd be most appreciative.

I have loved the DUNE novels and the magic of the DUNE universe for years (and admit I'm still trying to absorb it all).

One of the major mysteries that has me stumped is Daniel and Marty in HERETICS OF DUNE. I get the feeling that there is some kind of sublty or symbolism in these characters, but I don't have a clue.

I wondered if anyone here might have a theory as to what they represent. I'm wondering if the fact that Duncan sees them is a clue???
