Whenever I get together with one of my college buddies who now lives in Denver, she always asks, "What ever happened to Scot Doutt? What ever happened to John Krim?" Scot's the guy I was engaged to my senior year in college. John was the guy she was madly in love with- our manager at Chuck E. Cheese.
A couple of weeks ago I thought, "This time I'll have an answer for her!" Well, it seems Scot died in 1992. I can't pull up a full obituary due to the way the Pueblo Chieftain is, but I got enough to get the gist of it.
Today I thought I'd look up one of my high school teachers who later became a priest. Since we're going home, I thought I'd drop in on him. Here's what I found:
The Very Rev. Roger P. Dorcy
Saturday, July 30, 2005
The Very Rev. Roger P. Dorcy. Funeral Mass, 10 a.m. today, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 11th and Grand. Interment, Roselawn. Father Roger's video tribute, 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those who desire may make memorials to either St. Mary-Corwin Cancer Center, Sacred Heart Cathedral Stained Glass Window Restoration Fund or the Sangre de Cristo Hospice and Palliative Care, through the funeral home.
Yikes! He wasn't that old...only in his 50's. I guess it makes visits home easier when most of the people you knew are dead!
