Gus and Nick drove across Canada in a milk truck into which they had packed Nick's guitars and Gus's drums.

On the second, eastward. leg of the trip, the truck broke down, a total loss. The two hitchhiked back to Vermont across two time zones carrying guitars, amplifiers and drums.

Both were good guys, and the country bumpkinry was mostly an act.
