The camshaft journal holder and cylinder head (upper and lower part of the bearing) are machined in the factory when they are bolted together.

That's why the funny half-moon cut-out is in the cylinder head wall, and why you have to fiddle with silicone gasket the sharp edges in corners of the camshaft cover gasket.

There are also 2pc of positioning bushes in the bearing cover, fitting the cylinder head. This makes sure that the 'as one' machined bearing halves are allways exactly in place. Inside diameter should be 22.012-22.025mm, the camshaft 21.972-21.993mm, so there's a cleareance of 0.019-0.053mm.

So I wouldn't advise you only to replace the journal, if you want your bike to last. Replace the cylinder head in one piece complete with journal holders. A cylinder head without journal holders is worthless anyway.
