Good evening everyone. I have a 2000 TLR with 11k miles. In last 4 months it has been difficult to start when cold. Extended crank and then once firing I have to fiddle with the throttle to keep it running. Any ideas?
Plugs are less than 6k miles old. Tps is set properly. Fast idle is adjusted properly. No obvious vacuum leaks. No codes stored. Fires great when warm. Thanks for your time.

Mannn!!! I just looked back and noticed some old posts. I love this board. Always helpfull. I want to clear up some stuff. I want you all to know I have been with this board for uhh?? EVER!! I have never gotten anything bad from here. Well I guess a few posts back some of you guys mis-read my post. I made a joke and said "I just Crash em, I don't know the parts names that fix em." well that struck a nerve with some. As it should. I often hate when dumb A$$es get up and start bragging bout how dumb they currently are. I am not that. Justin Thanks for backin me bro!! TLRULES You warned me this would happen. johnnie t. wilson, you were a little on the deep end but I don't hate you bro. I appreciate the concern. I was in an accident. But I was just on my way back to work and got the No.2 special. (A mean helping of car turned left in front of me) I am ready now after 2 years of rehab and "other" to get my lady working again. I was in the canyons in the L.A. area this past monday.(back side near the rock store for those who know) God it feels good to be back. Still working on getting all my bearings back but I still got it. I'll be draggin a knee up at willow in no time.
You guys have been so supportive and I just needed to say thanks. If anyone lives in L.A. area drop me an E-mail. We should ride.

Stranded -- Gary B.-Mass, 21:07:14 07/18/04 Sun
For the first time since 98 my 97S died on me(except)whenI spun a bearing in 02). I guess that's two times. Anywho, after some serious smooth country road carving it dies. Lights-fine etc. but hit starter and-nothing. Of course like a nitwit I left toolkit in garage. 35 miles out so I leave it in a country bumpkins dirt driveway and start hitching. Since no one picks up hitchikers since Ted Bundy I walk thru some enchanted forest for an hour. My new oxinium knee held up well in the hills. Finally some older guy picks me up and is playing some Italian opera-it was excruciating! Drops me off in 5 miles when I finally reach a damn phone. So before I pick up tomorrow-any answers on where to look? I'll study my manual tonight-thanks.

- Billet Alluminum rear sets and other parts -- Jedi V Man, 16:48:12 07/04/04 Sun
A good friend and myself are going to start making some adjustable Billet Aluminum Rear Sets for the TL1000R/Busa/GSXR750. They will be very similar to the "Attack Rear Sets" that never made it into production for the TL's.
We will also be doing some custom Bar ends, Stator/Clutch covers, Triple Clamps, Swing Arm Extensions, lowering links and quite a few other things all CNC machined using Billet Aluminum. We will be offering quite a few finish options as well "polish, flash plated, anodized, color matched"...
Pricing will be very competitive considering the quality of the machining process we will be offering. My partner is the foremost athority on CNC machining in the country. His work is second to none.
My first question is, will anyone here be interested in some high end CNC machined parts for you bikes. 2nd, what parts would you like to see machined for you bike that are not available now, or not available the way you think they should be.
Please reply to me via e-mail at Jedivman1@comcast.net or reply to this thread and I will come back to it...
Thanks for you time...

- I met this Prozac dude! -- RKT, 23:36:09 07/01/04 Thu
Ya , the other day I was at a race shop buying some tires and this belly comes waddling through the door, spewing all this sht about how bitchen he is on his r1 to this newbe. So I slide over to get a drop on the conversation and hear him ramble on about slapin down dudes on the internet, and calling dudes out who never show. The whole time I am laughing, cause i know this guys game, He is getting tires mounted and he only wants the most side shreaded tires the guy has, The tires he is taking off have a shinny line right down the center to the cord and the sides look dusty! Anyway I follow them around for a minute to get my laugh on some more and he notices me and starts to question me a little about bike, where I ride, etc. So I lay down the law I ride the best bike on the planet a 2000 TLR with all the fixxins, and that I us all my tire nnot just the center and that I was sick of his BS here in our house! He spewed out some lame comment and wandered off like a skooled puppy. You guys realy have to view this in person, take him up on a ride and just laugh your ass off all day! Later bro's!

6 inches = Reckless Driving -- Breezydede, 14:05:10 07/06/04 Tue
Anyone ever got a reckless driving ticket for popping a wheelie? I received one two days ago because my front wheel was off the ground. The screwed up thing was I was not even trying to do a wheelie, I was accelerating and never got over 40 mph and my wheel was not more than 6 inches off the ground. The cop even acknowledged that it was only 6 inches and still gave me a freakin ticket. That make number 4 in 12 months, the other three were in my 2002 Saturn SL2. You think the judge is gonna give me a break for this BS?
Any advice would be appreciated.
