Subject: I recommend getting it hard anodized (otherwise known as Type 2). I believe that is what the new factory frames are. If not they are powder coated. Either way, it's pretty durable stuff. Just don't get the Type 1 anodizing. It is just decorative and scratches very easily. You know the stuff all those pretty Lockhart bolts are done in. First time you touch a wrench to it, the color will come off. The Type 2 is hard Military spec stuff. Good Luck.
In reply to: David,East Bay 's message, "Going to paint the frame-probably matte black. I like how it is done from the manufacturers and want it to look as if it rolled off the line that way. Does anyone know how it is being done? It almost looks baked on. Thanks" on 15:51:27 11/08/04 Mon
