        I don't condone or sympathize with an active addict. I have been on the losing end of ugly scenarios just as horrifying as death...no...death would have been a relief to a lifetime of carrying the burden of memories. Garrett did reveal a flaw in his thinking in the GMA interview. He said "I am still going to be me" ...and... "have a cocktail." He may be kidding himself. This could be an indication that he still hasn't got it. It sounds to me as if he needs to continue the road to change. So, I cheer him and all addicts on to keep working the work. yes what she said is a bit harsh but im sorry its the truth. i would't go far as calling him a scumbag thats going over the line but in life you have choices good ones and bad ones. unfortunaly for leif he made bad choices but he can't blame others for it i just saw a recent interview with him on abc i think it was. i thought it was low of him to be blaming his mother im not a fan of his but his mother was there for him she has been nothing but a good mom very supportaive and for leif to go on tv and blame his mother thats really cruel. anyways i really hope he can fight his addiction if he doesn't he's going to be the next child star dead.

- I understand your opinion about not blaming others. However, your statement "she has been nothing but a good mom"...seriously? I definitely have an opinion on that. Just because you give birth, doesn't make you a mom. You have to actually parent and not be a buddy. There are "good" moms today in jail in my county right now for allowing their teenage kids to drink and do drugs in the house because "at least I know where they are." Parents are accountable for their kids' actions. I agree, Leif is responsible for his actions as an adult, but his mother was responsible then.   - In the case of my ex...his mother use to give all 3 of her children heavy doses of NyQuil when they were little. She would sedate them when she didn't want to deal with them anymore. Then, around the age of 9, she introduced them to smoking pot because she couldn't hide her own habit. As they got into high school she was a walking pharmacy, giving them all kinds of prescription meds. When she came to visit our house to see her grandchildren, she would unpack a separate suitcase full of pharmaceuticals. It really is unbelievable how some people can kick someone when they are down. It's easy to love someone when they are at the top of their game, then assault them when they fall. Leif is a human being with needs and feeling like anyone else. Forget the fact that he is a celebrity, cause if he wasn't, then you would not love to hate him. You probably wouldn't care. I don't understand all of his demons, but its not my place and I have not walked in his shoes.....BUT for everything he has gone through....he has still survived. Everyone is entitled to their opinions but at least have a little empathy for this survivor. He didn't do anything bad to you.

leif is a loser a washed up celebrity hes a grown ass man and needs to get his stuff togther stopp the damn drugs, stop trying the comebacks cause there not working, get a new wardrobe, and try finding a decent job i don't have any sympathy for him hes 48 years old going to be 49 soon seriously grow up your not young anymore try acting your age and be a littel more mature he's not a teen idol anymore thats what made him famous and guess what thats gone so what is he doing now acting like a damn fool just trying to get attention and the only reason he went on celebrity rehab was probably for the money and to get attention not even serious about his drug addiction and the only reason he's in rehab now is because the court order him. leif is a a hole i don't think he cares about the fans he still has he just cares about himself and getting attention and getting money im sorry but thats my opinion on him.

  - Well put, Stacy. I don't know how Leif does it sometimes. I have plenty of flaws. I see them reflected back at me every day. Just imagine having people tell me to give up and that I'm washed up-that actually does happen in real world jobs too. But to have strangers judging you constantly....no wonder Leif hates the internet. Maybe rehab will work, maybe Leif will find the support he needs. Regardless, he's still here through all the negative comments, there are a few flickering hopeful voices. I don't want him to fail and I don't want him or anyone to give up. - Stacy and Bonnie, good words and awesome support. It's easy to spot the posters who have never dealt with addiction in their own or anyone else's lives. "Stop the drugs" is an easy thing to say. So is "Stop smoking", "Stop drinking", or "Stop eating compulsively", all of which I've dealt with. When will people realize that you just can't STOP an addiction?? To some addicts that's like saying, "Stop breathing". I am in a 12-step program for compulsive eating. It takes more than will or desire or commitment. Wondered what kind of intelligent conversations might come about concerning an individual who struggles with a lifetime of addiction..whether they are famous or not.         Found out that Garrett still does work that benefits charity. Found out that he does a lot more behind the scene stuff and musically than originally thought to have done. Found out that he still has a solid fan base of silly girls who secretly still want him to marry them and make him their baby's daddy. Found out that if I lived a day as Leif Garrett, I would need to probably get wasted to survive it...and that is coming from someone who has never been tempted to even try any of it. All I've been wanting is to watch the Leif Garrett Behind the Music episode. I can't find it online anywhere and it seems no one wants to post it on Youtube. I have been looking for it online forever. If anyone has it will they be willing to post it online? It just seems strange to me that his episode of Behind the Music was the most popular one,but is the hardest one to find. I see other artists' episodes online everywhere except for his. They won't even rebroadcast it on Vh1 now that they've brought it back.

See the video! I didn't know a thing about this until I got a google news alert today. I never go to his website (shame on me) so I dont' know if this is listed there or not.
He looks GREAT!! Wonder if his hair is natural color or dyed? Havent' seen his hair THAT blonde in a LONG time. His hair is different colors at different times, anyone else notice that?
Can't wait to see him on Dr. Drew,, I heard he filmed that in August.

...(Augusta, MI) The Barn Theatre School for Advanced Theatre Training is holding its first benefit concert Saturday, August 14th at 8:00.

Robert Newman leads Barnies from the past and present sharing their glorious talents in support of The Barn Theatre School for Advanced Theatre Training. This evening, full of Broadway blockbusters, dance, comedy and heart is sure to be a once-in-a-lifetime evening full of unforgettable moments.

Champagne reception immediately following performance where you can meet and greet the stars of the evening. Enjoy and a light snack in The Rehearsal Shed Lounge with friends before the show.

The Barn Theatre is located on M-96, west of Augusta. The theatre is fully air-conditioned and parking is free. Tickets are $100.00 (with a $70.00 tax donation) for this event and Visa, MasterCard and Discover are accepted. For tickets or more information call (269) 731-4121. Yikes! I don't think I've ever been this late. Busy July with a trip to the Quad-Cities to see one of my BFFs, photos entered in the Racine County Fair, and that same BFF up for a visit at the end of the month. Happy Belated Birthday to the gals we missed. Hope all are well!
