Xan walked slowly through the main gates of the Fort, head tilted back to look at the sky, a small smile lifting the corners of her mouth in a contented grin. It felt good to be back.; Fort Mossflower was the closest thing to home nowadays, and the fox always missed it when she was out visiting other towns. Not that she would give up traveling... she loved it too much. Well, that and the danger inherent in her staying in one place for too long. Eventually, she�d have to leave, and leave for good... But that time had yet to come, and as such, she would gladly stay as long as possible.

Ah, but it was a nice day... the sun was shining bright, the sky clear and pale blue until it met with the horizon of trees that stretched as far as the eyes could see. Perfect for walking, really, with a temperature that was not too hot yet not too cold. And she would have kept walking, too, if she hadn�t already been doing such all day.

It was already past noon, and she�d been on the road since yestreen; a break would indeed be welcome, and she was undeniably glad that she�d reached her goal.

Turning towards one of her favorite haunts�the tavern�, the vixen shifted her pack to a more comfortable position and pushed the wooden door of the building open and looked around. She hoped Ari was here; there was news to pass on of town, and of their mutual friend Kirian, the bard-wannabe who had been thrown in jail two weeks ago on a technicality.

Not that he didn�t deserve it, mind you...

Unfortunately, Arilyn Vayala was nowhere to be seen... and Xan remembered belatedly that the mouse had left on a vacation of her own not so long ago. Damn.

The fox sighed, making her way to the bar and ordering a drink, taking a seat on one of the stools and looking around the room�maybe there was someone else here that she knew...

      - There is a Christian RP game. I found it in the back of my dad's closet. It's called Dragonraid. I don't remember anything about it at the moment, but I think it would be something to look in to, if you could find it. (It's very old, probably out of print) And I, for one, like the dice-rolling. It isn't like a perpetual activity, and it allows a certain amount of randomness, and also forces the PCs to come up with some creative plans when the dice come up snake-eyes... *How long the days have been lately, she feels so tired. So many things to do, not enough time to do the things she used to enjoy. It's so ironic, when your young you wish to be older with more responsibility, and when your older you wish to be young and carefree. How she missed those days. A loud but beautiful birdsong breaks into her thoughts. The otter begins to watch the clouds as they go by, picking out their each individual shapes. Tiredness finally setting, in she lets her eyes slowly close.Listening to the pleasant gurgling of the stream, she falls gently into a restful, peacful sleep. ( how do you get to the new site??it seems like everyone knows but me.)

It was only on very special occasions that Ari would actually dress up; anything beyond a simple shirt and leggings would have to practically be asking for a miracle. It wasn't that the bard was lazy, or anysuch thing; it was simply that fancy dressing was quite beyond what you could ask of her.

That was why it would have seemed obvious to any of the fortbeasts that something strange was on the air as the mouse came through the oak doors at the front of the Mess Hall. She had cast aside her thread-bare shirt and pants, trading them instead for a rather remarkable costume.

Deep blue was the color of her baggy pants; the color the sky tried to reach as it fell beyond the horizon, the blue-black of dusk, while the pants themselves were baggy enough to fool many that it was truly a skirt. While she still wore a simple, longsleeved shirt, it was the cobalt blue as well this time, the light reflections telling it was of silk.
A long, blood-red vest, made by her own design, hung down a bit past her waist, held in place by a green, black and gold sash. Gold lining adourned the vest, as well as the sash.

For all the rich clothes, the mouse had no thoughts about having them become messed; she leapt upon a partially empty table, screeching a few ear-raking notes on a flute for attention.
"On behalf of Mariel Alaric--who is absent upon this day, having been whisked away by her doting boyfriend for a long vacation, the twit--and the High Council of Fort Mossflower, I annouce to you today;

Fort Mossflower has officially re-opened!"

Throwing them around on the creatures below, she sneaks a few and continues throwing them around until the pouch is empty.* It's my bally birthday, wot!
*Jumping down from the rafters, Sands lands on a table, loses her balance and falls off with a squawk, ending up with a thud on the floor. Her face, still chewing candied chestnuts, looks up, slightly puzzled.* W...where am I? What am I doing down here? What's happened? Where am I?

*She gets up, her eyes looking dazedly around before she falls backwards and collapses on the floor in a sitting position.* Where am? What happened? Who are you? Why don't you bally well tell me?

Ari, I'm surrounded. I leave for a bit, unable to warn you all that I went up farther into the depths of northern Michigan, and I come back to find that I missed Kiptan, Xanny left us for the time being, that a whole bunch of stuff seemed to have happened and now I haven't even an inkling of what's been going on, and more new people seem to be popping in almost everyday.
*sighs*
But- I still managed to get you a cactus. *pulls out a small green pot with a tiny green cactus that has a wee teeny green flower on top.*
For you my friend. Now please get me up to speed with all the goings-ons around here and assure me that Kiptan will e-mail me before I leave for Ohio again in... (lessee) about nine days. *bambi eyes*
