Since there's no responses, I guess I'll reply to my own message. Here is part of a post I wrote about CPL taiji as middle frame practice:

"Seeing most people do the CPL taiji, I can�t help but wonder if they will ever develop any martial arts prowess from just doing the middle frame practice. After all, not every CPL group does the small and large frames, or even considers them valid. I say that because there is a idea out there that CPL taji should be practiced exactly as CPL showed it in his book. But then the book was written just before CPL died. Should the postures ALWAYS be done that way knowing that CPL was no where near his prime then? The answer is obvious."
