OK. S'peer meets Halzay and Salzay, and wants to be a part of his daughter's life. But Halzay isn't too sure, because it would mean she would have to see him when he came to visit. And, you know, she's scared of him...
But then (dun dun duuuun) Elizabeth goes into heat! And because Scarth has always fancied her, he chases her. And now, my friends, the game is afoot!
S'peer stays human, and so does Halzay, but when they get to the weyrs she gets so scared of him that he doesn't actually do anything. At all. (In The Skies of Pern, when Tai is panicking, F'lessan debates with himself whether or not to just "opt out" of the flight, and keep away from her, so S'peer could do that, in theory.)
So S'peer spends the night on the floor in his weyr, and when Halzay wakes up to find he hasn't actually done anything to her, she starts to trust him a little...and lets him see Salzay. And maybe we could go from there and have a bit of fun!
And maybe a bit of romance, if you think it could work...

Verdict?
