    Three cheers for depression.

    Okay. Everyone knows I'm madly in love with Spencer, who lives in Georgia, right? Well, I live in Maryland. Pretty far. So, way back in the summertime, I'd come up with the idea that I wnated to actually meet him. Mom said, okay, why not. Then something came up, and I couldn't. Okay, forgivable, as school would be starting soon and such. The next available date was in September. But mom decided that wasn't a good date for her, after all. Okay, fine. Then came the Halloween incident! It was pretty short noticed, but mum said we could try to go to Georgia for Halloween. I was happy, etc. THAT didn't work out, either. The tickets were like, 600 USD per person. O__o. So, my mum hunted through nonexpensive trips and finally found one for January 9. Pretty far off, but as long as I could be with the light of my life.. I was all for it. So here it is, middle of December. I bring up the issue with mom, somehow, about how we were going in January.

    You know what she says? She says, 'What? We aren't going in January.'

    ..

    I am utterly devastated.

    It turns out she'd never told me that she hadn't gotten the tickets, two months ago. Just.. slipped her mind or something. I'm not blaming my mom for anything, really.. I love her and I know that she's reaallly busy, being a quantum/physics professor. O__O. But.. I'm sad. As in.. teary sad.

    Kita has existed without the knowledge of the Northern
    and Southern continents. Settled by a small group of
    Holders and Dragonriders early in Pern's history,
    things have fallen into disrepair. Dragons are no
    longer respected; the Weyr is in the grip of the Lady
    Holder Visillian.
    But things are about to change.
    The Weyrwoman of Kita, a HAD, contacted the Queen of
    Benden Weyr. Now, the North and South continents plan
    to assist the Kitan riders in regaining their proper
    status. There are only a few problems: the new Junior Weyrwoman of Kita is the Holder Visillian's daughter,
    and the Weyrleader has his own scheme for the
    Weyr...

    Quiet my child and listen close.
    This is the story of a land far away…
    Where the children play with wooden swords
    and steal their little sister’s doll.
    And a rumble is heard.
    It comes closer and closer
    until it seemed that maybe, just maybe
    Apocalypse had come
    and the world was coming to an end.
    This land has a curse.
    For you see, my child, in that time
    the dragons were supreme on the island.
    Every four months a problem arose.
    It nearly overthrew the islands.
    Devouring every thing it it’s path.
    Wood and rocks.
    Food, hide and flesh.
    There was no stopping it.
    It was called Toyna.
    No one really knows exactly
    what it was.
    A parasite or some supernatural
    phenomenon.
    But whatever it was, the dragons
    could destroy it.
    Alemi Monroe built up the Army
    to what it is today.
    Using the unique abilities of the dragons
    and gryphons to rid the island of the pest every
    four months.
    But the Toyna wasn’t the only problem.
    Sometimes a stranger would walk through town
    and was looked upon with an unsure eye.
    For he may be one of them.
    One of those rare few who can destroy
    the world in the blink of an eye!
    Even they are unexplained, they remain in hiding to this day.
    No one knows where they live or
    what they are.
    But man fears what it can’t explain
    and they are hated for what they are.
    And the mages.
    How could I have forgotten them?
    I am sorry my son.
    The mages were started by Alemi’s
    younger sister, Briala.
    Each sister had her respective areas.
    Several years had gone by
    with the young one constantly disappearing

    lips are sealed as if the young magess had
    a secret to keep.

    hey! does anyone wanna go read the mother/son reunion in progress??? i've only gotten the first two posts done so far, but it's getting intresting! i'm considering bringing in the dad, too! any suggestions? if u want info as to persona or whatnot, i'll give brief sum-up below. also, if anyone wants 2 post and complicate things, DO!

    Tr'ln personality:

    Father of Trag and ex-boyfriend of Tsuga, Tr'ln is passive and loves all things. He doesn't really feel affected by others' anger; it just rolls off. Basically happy-go-lucky, but is concerned about Tsuga and the son he's never met.

    Trag Personality:

    Son of Tr'ln and Tsuga, Trag is 9, and a very happy child. He LOVES all animals. Well, most animals. Show him a runnerbeast, and prepare to hear a sound more eerie than the keening of dragons that signifies a death. But other than that, he's very cheerful, and of course naturally curious. He's concerned for all people, and has no idea who his parents are.(was fostered at birth and has never met either parent....until now...)

    Tsuga Personality:

    Tsuga, mother of Trag and ex-girlfriend of Tr'ln, has become rather embittered over the nine years since she parted with Trag. Tr'ln left her some time before the boy's birth, and Tsuga's always felt somewhat...guilty for abandoning her son. So, now she's trying to make amends. The problem is, she's not emotionally ready to face up to her son - and has been shoved into a face-to-face meeting with him far to soon by yours truly!

    Now for the fun stuff! Although I cannot beLIEVE so many people are away... okay, mebbe I can, since it IS Thanksgiving. ^_^;;

    Etreus ideas -- Complete destruction of the government would work. I mean, we could say we won the war only by ruining all forms of gov and... I don't know... the Guides are incapable of taking charge / missing / dead / wounded too badly to take charge? Something would hafta be done to ensure anarchic chaos. (Ooh. Neat phrase. XD.) I also like the suggestion of a plague. ^_^ Personally, I think that several small, enticing plotlines are just as important as a bigger, more unifying plot. You have the basis for those -PhiaShips, Vae, Kilven, etc- but there's a total lack of activity/intensity/emotion behind them. Put a volunteer in control of stirring people up and see what happens? Whoever has Fern's gold could do Kilvens, someone else the Vae tree (wasn't Jeleta doing that?) and someone else PhiaShips. I offer Yajey for that. Of course, Kittysan would be in overall control, but helpers can't hurt. ~_^

    Erin -- What exactly do sister sites *do*? ^_^;; I know, I'm dense. *G* Oh and yes, that game is beautiful. XP *jealous*

    KRPG -- is insanely inactive. Since I haven't been active either, I'm not going to go by last post date and simply delete people: I will be having an active check from about now until December 10th or so. The link shall magically appear on the KRPG main page soon. ~_^

    ZHRPG -- is also being uber-slow. I realize that there aren't many members to begin with, but a post or two a week isn't too much to ask. (Especially since Nov is almost over with and those of us who are writing novels can breathe deeply in December. *G*) When you guys return, let's make an effort to be active, okay? (And I've been as bad as the worst of you, I know. >,< Novels coupled with bad connections can do that.)

    Shtuff -- I won't be away, persay, over the weekend, but I doubt I'll post much of anything unless I do so tonight. I have a novel to finish, food to eat, family to spend time with, and a friend to entice back to my house. Mostly a novel to do, though. ~_^ Don't expect me to be around, but don't miss me.

    Man. What can I say? I was looking through the archives today, laughing at times, and smiling sagely in others, just enjoying myself when I saw it.

    In archive 10, nearly at the last of the messages was Sushi's ode to Terole. Several others, I don't know how many of you are still here, contributed to saying goodbye to the game, and the sight of it brought tears to my eyes. You probably don't know this but I'm not one that cries that often or that easily, but the things that you all said touched my heart... and also touched a part of it that is still raw. I never got to say goodbye to my dear, dear friend Terole. I left like a sluggard in the middle of its most important times, the times when it was vital for Terole to stay alive.

    I got lazy. You know why? Because I got tired of the inactivity of the people around me. The trend had continued for too long: I'd post... a couple of weeks later, someone else would post. I'd post again and it would be an equally long time before someone replied. I got to the point when I didn't bother. I saw that two or three had posted and I ignored it. I got lazy. I know it sounds like I'm ranting and raving about people's inactivity right now, but that's not why I'm writing this. Sure, it may help kickstart some people back in gear but that's not my goal.

    I just want to say goodbye to a lost friend and attempt to heal some of my own scars by doing so.

    I know that you all have forgiven me for leaving. For letting TFD disobey Redwood's orders to find new Guardians. For letting Katrina and Dart stop firing on the Drakkan base on Xerachin. And for anything else I may have stopped doing. You all have let it go like water under the bridge, and I thank you for that.
    But I haven't forgiven myself. I don't know that I ever will, because it seems to weigh so heavily on my shoulders that I can't help but feel that it was partially my fault for letting Terole go down. And that thought rips my heart in two.

    Collie made a farewell address to Terole too, and it was the very last message in the archives. No doubt that it will be deleted when I post this lament, but I want to recap for a moment. She made references to several of the chars my own chars knew and loved. Ones like Chonda and Satanic Fury. The mention of the latter tweaks the strings in my heart. To The Five Deaths he wasn't just a demon. He was a friend... perhaps even closer than a friend. He may have been a nuisance to some of you but I will always look back on him with fondness and nostalgia.

    Collie also made reference to the SpotterPup race. She said it was "The end of an era of 'fun' species." I'm proud to say that I made them up and achieved the honor of getting mentioned in her ode to Terole. Starz 'N' Planetz was certainly a fun character to play. Although I did not play her for long, I suspect that more SpotterPups followed in her absence.
    I'm honored and at the same time, feel a great regret. The SpotterPups were then just a fun species, but they have, over the years, developed in both history and culture through time. I cannot explain this feeling of grief, only to say that I feel bad about it in some... strange way.

    As I look back through the years and think about how much fun I had on Terole, I'm reminded of how excited I was when I found it.
    See, I had created several kinds of species before I'd even heard of Terole, and I was longing for a place to role-play them with others. When I saw Terole, I was estatic. Finally I could bring Kumayakies to life! My first character was none other than my friend The Five Deaths, who has been an inspiration to me and at times, seems to be a part of me. I can't say the number of times when I felt like doing only something she would. It felt like TFD 'took over' when I got angry at something.
    Even now she's with me, though she is but an imaginary personage I have created, I've done so much with her over time that it's like she's real. I know what she's thinking and what she would do in a given situation. That's part of the reason I made KRPG. TFD's spirit wanted out again. To be free to interact with others. After one of those times when I'd fallen inactive for a long time, I got restless. All I would be able to think about is coming back to Terole and setting TFD loose again.

    Terole has made a difference in my life. It has prompted me to bring Anyana to life- not just as a handful of species that I pretended to be and made up for the heck of it. But its own world, one that I can close my eyes and release my imagination so I can run loose in it, be it as a Terror, Kumayaki, Mancaw, or one of the many other species I've made.
    And with thanking Terole I thank its creator. I didn't think about this being an ode to Sushi but I do thank her. For taking an idea and turning it into reality.

    All those who made Terole come alive, to the chars and their players, I thank you. To the hard workers that labored to bring it through its lows and to the Guardians who worked to keep things under control during its highs, I thank you.
    To whoever made it possible, and to God Who gave me the gift of not only imagination, creativity, and writing, but drawing, singing, humor, and whatever He has blessed me with...

    Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

    And now I formally say goodbye to Terole, with great sadness but the promise of many happy memories made, you have been an inspiration, spare-time eater, and more than I can ever hope to say or think.

    You have changed my life and the lives of others.

But it's still fun as all phont to write it!

    Okay. I'm quite dead. However.. I came up with a wee twinge of an idea. I dunno, though. I really, really miss Aquilia. :sigh: Been thinking more and more about reopening it, maybe rethinking some of the cretts.. altering it. It would be Aquilia's /sixth/ remake, though.. and the past five have been equally forgotten. Four years old, I'm celebrating its birthday the 13 of November. By then I hope to have a plotline and a steady set of ideas for you all to gorge your eyes upon.. so yeah. But for now, I'll just throw my ideas at you randomly so you can preview them. Oh the joy.

    Vyguns will be involved. Somehow. Someway. As well as other spacers. There will be a form or something to fill out to introduce a new species or summat. Anyway.. the old elements dealie will of course be back, as well everyone's favourite species -- or not -- the dragoon. And there will be a new asset, to go with the reformatted element chart.. I just don't know what to call it. It's really interesting. And the Dragon Ghosts of Peace, War, and Death are back, too. And everything from the old Aquilias. But it will take place in a Chaos similar to that of TSMA; a bubble of atmosphere with floating islands, and it and its gravity are produced by a nearby wormhole. Lovely, eh? But it won't be exactly like the setting of TSMA, just the Chaos bubble thing. And lots of moons. And no more good vs. neutral vs. evil, that got old. Though I started to implement cool things.. oh well. As for my precious Beastials/halflings.. they'll undergo a change, too.. but I'll describe that, later. And there will be character classes! Kind of like in D&D. Like.. mage and cleric and knight, but not exactly like that. And it will be advanced technology + medieval, sort of. Kinda hard to explain, really.

    And pirates.

    Middle of the night + pitt bull + Dusty = one big bloody mess.

    That's the summary of what happened to my peaceful lil' life here in the southern Indiana boonies last night.
    One of our neighbors has this pitt bull that is known to HATE horses. So this guy hands it off to his little kid to walk, right? Smart idea. The dog takes off, drags the kid for who-knows-how-far, and passes up the numerous other horses on our road to attack *mine*.
    So the dog attacks Dusty and attatches itself to his bottom lip. Dusty's really enjoying this, so much that he's flinging his head around trying to get the stupid dog off of him. Which, of course, coats himself in blood 'n' spit. (no, literally. Spit. Bloody spit, to be exact.)
    There was a big crowd gathered (Thank God for good neighbors!) trying to get the dog off of Dusty. There's a nice big stick in the pasture with blood and hair on it... which I'm assuming they used to beat the dog with to try to get him off. (I wasn't there... this is all via a caring neighbor's report) They had to use an effing SCREWDRIVER to pry the dog's jaws open and let Dusty loose. A screwdriver.
    Needless to say, from what I hear the dog's pretty torn up himself. Good. I'da beaten the thing to within an inch of its life. (Being an animal lover, I likely wouldn't kill it, just beat its bloody hide.)
    All this was going on unbeknownst to us, until one of Dusty's friends comes up to the house and lets us know. She briefed us on the situation and let me tell you, we hot-footed it down there like a jackrabbit with its tail on fire.
    Dusty had blood all over him (as aforementioned) and had bloody saliva dripping off of his lip. He's got a coupla good puncture wounds on his lower lip and likely one inside his mouth, too. There's a minor scratch/wound up bhy his eye that didn't cause too much trouble, and I reckon that he'll prolly hate dogs for the rest of his horsey life.

    Needless to say, we won't be riding for a while. But that's no biggy. At least he'll recover.

    So that's what's been exciting things over here in my neck of the woods. The dog's owner has agreed to help with the vet bill and we've got a close neighbor that has three horses of her own to help us with our *cough* newbie horse knowledge. (hey, I know alot about horses from books and such... but not alot about them in-person O,o)

    So yeah. Fun stuff. I'da had them shoot the dog though, so it wouldn't do anything like this again.

    Mishala had grown tired of the politics and falsehood around her. It seemed as if there was no longer anything to live for. Dragonriders were no longer Thread fighters, but backbiting politicians whose only wish was to climb higher on the ladder of success. She went to her weyr and packed a small bag of her precious belongings, things that held fond memories for her. She leapt to Sebaeth's back and told her to go forward, as far as she could. Sebaeth was a rather intelligent dragon and always knew when she was. She obeyed her rider's command and they went forward. They popped out of Between right as Mishala thought she wasn't going to make it. She hovered over what should have been Benden Weyr. All that was left was rubble and Thread-eaten ground. She was shocked at the desolate place. She traveled the Northern Continent for two sevendays before she found actual people. In her travels, she stumbled onto a flit Clutch and successfully Impressed a ruby flit she named Ivenia. When she arrived at a Weyr, all the people gawked at the large dragon, later she learned why. F'rell, WeyrLeader of the new Weyr had informed her that centuries ago a Weyrwoman had disappeared and no one knew why. Over time, the dragons had grown weaker and less fertile. They had also evolved in that they were now able to breathe ice as well as fire with the use of firestone. The colors of the dragons had changed as well. He was searching for any female Dragonriders that might be able to help replenish the Weyrs. Mishala agreed to be Weyrwoman and help them restore Pern and that, dear reader, is where our story begins.

    Well folks, I regret to inform you that Sushi and I have come to a co-descision... New Isle Weyr needs a new Owner. We're just... suffering from loads of work, and trying to be good at the other RPGs we own, as well as possibly poking a new one into existence. The thing is, New Isle needs someone who has the same love for it that we do, but can actually provide the time for it.. which we can't. We hate to say good bye, but unlike some of our other things, New Isle was not created by us, it was created by Anne McCaffery, and therefore it's quite possible that anyone else outthere knows just as much about it as we do, and has just as much right to it.

    I don't like spending my weekends at festivals away from home. I really do.

    There is a festival in Paris, IL (my hometown) this weekend and my mom's booth is going to be set up there. Unfortunatly, we have to be ready to sell by 9:00. Add an hour to set up, an hour and a half to drive, an hour to wake up, get ready, and load whatever else we haven't done tonight, and you get a wake-up time of 5:00 O_O

    I realize that some of you probably get up at that time every day. Well... I don't. I get up when I darn well feel like it (thank God I'm homeschooled) which is usually around 9 or so. Anything earlier than 8 is early for me. anything earlier than 6 is insane, and a 5 o'clock get-up makes me want to eat my alarm clock and sleep for another twelve hours. *bangs head on desk*

    I will be away from home from now (Thurs. night) to Sunday night, Sun. afternoon at earliest, Mon. afternoon/late morning at worst. I will have limited computer access, but there isn't a high liklihood of me making it to KRPG and ARPG.

    So y'all have a nice weekend, hmm? *mopes* I have to get my shower and go to bed then get up at FIVE O'CLOCK IN THE STINKIN' MORNING. Grar.

    I have rediscovered the joy of roleplaying Kain on Furcadia. Unfortunately, her first person I met in Furc - as Kain - just died. And I'd just found him again after.. a year or so. his sucks.

    Well, no matter. Now that I've sort of.. gotten into the swing of school, - as much as I hate it, I'm used to it - I think I can find time to work on an RPG, again. However.. I need ideas. I'm just not sure of what to open. Should I rekindle one of my old games or ideas? Or finds something new? Or just add a twist to the former.. and what could I do for the latter? so.. if anyone has any ideas, just pipe up.

    Well! I actually have something to say. Some good news, and some bad-ish news. And that's what posting messages on here seem to be all about.

    Good news, or bad news first? What was my good news? I forget. So I'll go with bad news first.

    We're building a barn for Dusty this week, and it's been a pain in the you-know-what. It took us all day just to set the stinkin' corner posts, level them, pull the 16-footers out of the 3-ft holes, dig some more holes, set them again... let's just say it wasn't exactly fun. So... that was Monday. We'll be building the barn all week (approximately) so my activeness could be a little down this week... however, on to the good news (I remember it now)

    Mom's cut out my bedtime! No more set bedtime for me to get to sleep by! No more getting off the computer at 9:00! I have to get off of it at 10 now. -.- pity me. Anyway, good news. Even though I have no bedtime... she's requiring me to get at least 10hrs of sleep which means... I have to go to bed 10hrs before I have to get up in the morning. And that's basically the same as having a bedtime, it just changes from day to day! Geesh. But I will be active as I possibly can... probably on once a day if I'm predicting right (XD... which is prolly a lot for you public school folks)
    That was good news? Mebbe. It's just good to say that I have good news and no bedtime.

    Let's see, have I covered it all? Noope! I've done my good and bad news... now for a question for all you RP'ers, old Terolians, and KRPGers!

    I was thinking about my favorite char the other day. TFD, or The Five Deaths, as her full name goes. I was remembering back to the time when she was a guardian of Terole (how honored I felt! I should have been more active >.<) and how much fun it was to play her! Poor TFD's tired of being caged up! She wants out!

    So I thought of a plan.

    A plan that would be similar to KRPG.

    So similar that I'd feel like I was copycatting -.-

    That's why I'm asking your guys' opinion on this. It would be a pack-based Kumayaki RPG with TFD as its leader along with a couple 'seconds. Yes, an Anyana-Kumayaki style of KRPG. I feel bad even mentioning it because it would be nearly a mirror image of KRPG. I don't want to be accused of plagarism, now!
    I'm asking your opinion. Sushi (when you can, or via Kitty), I'd love to hear what you think of all this, and until it's OK with you I won't make it. The rest of you... let me know what you think! I need feedback and I need support for my shame of copycatting. I'd do my best to make it unique... but it would probably still be very much like KRPG.

    So how about it? Yea or nay? Lemme know =P

    People have stopped looking at me strange when I curse in Kalash though. [S'about time, too.] Am I the only person who wanders over here who ISN'T a member of any of the RPGs linked to here...? Mraw... well.. ..uh... ....I'm joining Talatris--and the owner just advertised here. And. Uhm... ...I'm a member and one of the co-owners at LG's site, and she's a member of some of the RPGs. ...so I'll pretend that counts. I'll try and talk and be not profanity filled, which I have been lately. Whee. ..I think I needeth caffiene.

    And I look around and think "Aiee. A lot of these people... they seem so... old?" ---until I realize, I started RPing at Terole [and the Apps] when I was 10 or 11. And I'm 15 now. That's a good, 4, 5 years. Apply those 4, 5 year to the fact that quite a few of the other people were older than me.. Hm. All in all, I feel more like a little kid than I did when I started. Heh.

    Which means : I can advertise my artwork at random! Hm... a number of you are on Elfwood---is there anyone on DeviantArt? That's where I've got the majority of my stuff now... Except some old picture I'm still searching my computer for... but... : My DA gallery.... DA works more like Elfwood, I believe [as compared to, say, Side7]. If you actually click there, click the 'gallery' button. Hm... ...some of the pictures contain.... blatent nudity, and/or suggestive content. Only maybe about a whole 5% of the pictures, though.

    I'm sure there was something else I meant to go on about. But my discman broke and I have a cold. Eval eval things.

    Hey, I just wanted to let anyone who roleplays with my characters on KRPG (Gerwyn and Taryn) that, if you can't tell, I am majorly inactive. There is good reason for that I promise! Obviously school is cutting down on my 'net time, what with a brand new band director who has us practicing over five- six hours a day (and yet we aren't any better than we were with our old director- go figure). And having all AP classes, and getting my volunteer hours done, and taking care/retraining my mare after her navicular diagnosis. Anyway, I'm getting on and posting when I can, but it is going to not be that often until my stupid schedule calms down a lil'. Thanks for understanding, lol.
