The sense of warning within the Bushi's mind rang a clarion call through him, his muscles within the wide kimono and hakama tightening as lightning shook through him. The intentions of this man were still in some doubt, but Ikari knew enough to recognize the warning tone within the knight's voice.

It was said that one does not fight an Oni within the bowels of Hel, he thought. Letting a distracted and faintly bored smile wander over his face, Ikari slowly glanced around the room, as well as back to his host. Detrik had shown him a face, had displayed part of himself to his guest.

"As you have shared with me, so shall I share with you... my travels have been long, taking me through the seemings of childling and wilder, to my now aged state; and yet there has always been the same driving goal. Do... the Way of things.

Now to hear of this collection fascinates me, as how a man treats his retainers is always a most fascinating thing. To treat them well, and with respect, garners honor; to mistreat them is to sow seeds of dissent within one's own house. And all such relfects on the master, in how he acts to those he retains. There is a Haiku...

To tell others it is a rumor
will not do.
When your own
heart asks,
What shall you answer?"

The samurai smiled faintly, the gesture equal parts amusement and condescending; shifting faintly as he stood watching the knight. To anyone watching, it would simply seem to be a shift on his feet for the satyr; but the knight, a trained swordsman like himself, would know the act as the sublte means of relaying that he would not be tamed easily. There was no threat in the small action, only statement.
