Subject: Great post, Surf. I am back from my travels. Just cleared away the snow. What's all this duct tape talk? That stuff won't even work on ducts! Still, it makes more sense than throwing 7 pebbles at a big rock in Saudi Arabia -- sort of like a rock concert without any music.

Instead of we United States citizens cowaring in our homes behind sheets of plastic and ductape, clinging to our flashlights and our three days supplie of canned goods and water, why are we all not going out and buying guns, rifles, uzzies, Mack-10s, and assault rifles, etc., and launching neighborhood militia groups, working in coordination with the military and the state and local police, in order for be prepared to launch an offensive against al Qaeda, Hizbolla, Hamas, Iraqi secret police, and any others here on our own soil? -- William, 17:47:02 02/13/03 Thu (pcp01723644pcs.coatsv01.pa.comcast.net/68.83.107.210)

[> [> [> while I have no firearms at home - I always thought shotguns would be better for home defense
I mean if someone is invading my home, a shotgun would make short work of them.
add to which I believe shotguns have less red tape involved in their purchase...
barring that, a short barreled lever-action rifle that takes .357 rounds...

[> [> The Police will be overwhelmed and will not respond as quickly as a well trained neighborhood, county, and state civilian militia. I already served ain Active duty service in the US military. I am willing to be an at home father and husband while being part of a local anti-terrorism rapid response assault force. Training and preparedness would include marksmanship, hand to hand combat, knife and stick fighting, communications, and group assault tactics, along with other skills. What do you think? -- William, 17:48:33 02/13/03 Thu (pcp01723644pcs.coatsv01.pa.comcast.net/68.83.107.210)

[> [> [> I think we should stock up on bullets to protect our homes from the looters who would emerge should anything happen. I cannot see wasting good duct tape. What does a Lugar cost these days? -- SurveyGuy, 19:02:40 02/14/03 Fri (maxtnt04-228.phlpa.fast.net/209.92.96.228)
