Kelly, you are spot on. In those days they saved everything thru the generations and they didn't move their residence. Had to put the stuff some where. I think the sets are very accurate.
Having the mountain named for them wasn't too unusual. It was probably homesteaded. That didn't take much money. You only had to show improvement on the land. Mountain tops were usually the last parcels to be Homesteaded. Everyone wanted the bottoms to farm.
